Kristen Belt-Shaaban, FNP, is a native Oregonian. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Linfield College in 1995 and her Masters of Science and Family Nurse Practitioner from Oregon Health and Sciences University in 2000.
Kristen has provided primary care with the Yakima Valley Farmworkers Clinics in Woodburn and Salem and with Multnomah County Health Department in Portland. She has worked with a diverse population and is fluent in Spanish.
Now a primary care provider with Integrative Primary Care Associates, Kristen has a strong background in women and children’s health care and has provided family planning services, including IUD insertion and follow up. She has had extensive training and experience in breastfeeding support and working with new parents and their babies.
Kristen believes her role as a health practitioner is to empower patients to take responsibility for their own health. People are the most invested in their health when they are educated on their options and then allowed to make their own decisions for care, regardless of what decision the provider may chose. Her goal is to provide each of her patients with evidence based care in an individualized, collaborative and supportive environment blending traditional medicine, alternative and complementary therapies.
In her spare time Kristen is busy exploring the outdoors with her 2 young children. She also enjoys gardening, cooking, reading and writing.
